What this list covers
The second grade list adds longer words (because, always, around) and the pairs that trip up older readers too: their and there, which and wish, its and it's. Reading these in a sentence matters as much as reading them alone.
How to teach the second grade words
Their and there sound the same. Only a sentence shows which one is meant, so use Missing Word or the sentence worksheet.
Be-cause and a-round are easier in two beats. Clap the beats, then read the whole word.
